Really enjoying these edits a lot. Love the work of Martin Buday and the colours, tone and compositions. I also really find the quiet and stillness in Joe Maloney's work is amazing too. I feel like in my mind or when I live that I have "seen" or "been" to these places whether in my mind or wandering my own town.
Thank you Mike, I'm really happy to hear you've been enjoying the features! I can definitely understand those feelings. I believe good contemporary landscape photography often has the ability to bring out nostalgia and familiarity due to the generally more banal and grounded nature of its subject matter.
Very nice - l especially like the way Martin leaves room in the composition, I have found myself doing that over the last year or so, to include elements surrounding the subject for layering, reference, color harmony, etc. Count me as a fan!
Me too Paul, it can be very difficult to make images that are further back feel engaging and full. Part of how he achieves that is by keeping a relative balance up and down or left and right (you can actually see that negative space balancing in his closer, tauter images too, like the Peace Token Cigarettes photograph). He also ensures that when there's sky or empty foreground, there's still something to lead your eye in. For example, in his last image, there are dirt tracks leading into the rest of the frame, and the sky has a lot of interesting cloud patterning.
Wow, so much beautiful work here. I love Martin’s images very much. Such a strong aesthetic with subtle humour. The horse image is so great. Wonderful feature❤️
I'm glad this feature could inspire you to shoot some night images! It's really interesting how much a landscape can change when photographed at night, you'll likely take a lot of images that you'd never think of during the day.
Great work by Joe and Martin. One of SO’s best series in my view, perhaps because the photos are very familiar to me as I live in New Jersey. I look forward to obtaining a copy of the Prophetic Kingdom.
Martin Buday❤️
thank you Kim! 🥰
I love Martin's work, he always makes such great stuff.
The Buday series is amazing! Holy crap.
thank you! 🙏❤️
Martin makes incredible work!
The horse picture from Buday is incredible! The whole series is, but that one stuck out to me.
I love that horse picture too Rob, it always gets a chuckle out of me and its weirdness makes it especially great.
🙏🥰
One of the best artist features I've seen, wow
Thank you Cory, I'm really happy to hear this one resonated with you so much!

Prophetic Kingdom is a fantastic project, that's great you were able to get a copy Joe!
Very nice work by Joe and Martin. These posts are an excellent way to find awesome photographers to follow.
It makes me happy to hear these features are a good resource to you Michael, that's one of the main reasons we put these sets together!

Thank you Pete, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the feature! The horse image really is great, it's the perfect mix of humorous and weird.
Again, with the alluring after dark shots...another reminder for me to get out and shoot at night!
