I’m really glad to hear that’s coming through for you Mason. Putting together tight, cohesive edits is the core of the curatorial philosophy at SO. This is especially true of our books and magazines, but is even something that receives significant consideration with our Substack and Instagram features.
I love seeing different artists takes on the same locations. I know I’ve already included a couple of your Oman images in my survey books, but please send over the full series Willy! I’d love to see it.
Interesting to look at them again, as well as the the whole set incl the ones who didn't make the final cut. My image of the pile of 'asphalt rocks with yellow line' wasn't that great but fits the story :-)
I’ve long followed and loved Ben’s work, but glad to be introduced to Fabien here - wonderful stuff!
Very happy to be able to make the introduction Daniel!
I love the consistency in the tones and feel of these photos. This is something that I am working towards in my own work.
That’s definitely something that can really bring a project together even more cohesively.
That tarmac on the second image looks like it’s been perfectly placed
Yeah it's crazy that it was ripped up in such a way that the yellow line stayed all together!
Always amazed by how cohesive these photo sets feel, in spite of the variety of subjects and settings.

That missing billboard with a tire tied to its remains is a great shot
I love that one too Lennert!
I love the tones and colors in these images. Absolutely captivating.
So happy to hear you enjoyed them Jennifer!
Love the 4th image. Such a beautiful set!
Thank you Suzi! I love that one too.
Oh wow, that nice Oman series of Fabien is so (in a way) similar as mine! Took so many of these scenes as well, not included in my final selection.

Can you please send me the files for the project? I’d love to put together a selection of them for a feature.
Very inspiring!
That’s great to hear Per!
almost thought the first pic was taken around the Salton Sea. Gas in the water is so American.
I definitely can see the similarities to the Salton Sea. There is something very American about that isn’t there?
Epic, as always!
Thank you very much Steven!
All amazing work! Thank you for introducing us to some exceptional photographers on this post.
These are all so amazing! Thanks for the introduction to so many amazing photographers!
