Really glad you like enjoyed it Peter! I feel like Laura’s is one of the quintessential Iceland is an otherworldly place images. Great suggestion, I’d be happy to share more about my curation process.
That would be amazing! After attending Chico I realized how incredibly important it is to learn more about others process, get constructive criticism and look at others work. It’s so easy to spin your tires on a project and live in a vacuum. Maybe that’s just my experience but I think it could be helpful to many.
I don't think that's just your experience. I completely agree that living in a vacuum is very counterproductive to making good work! How did you like Chico?
Glad to hear that Noah. Chico was a good experience. Being able to share work with: Dana Lixenberg, Sergio Purtell, Bryan Schutmaat, Sage Sohier, etc and get feedback was invaluable. I hadn’t had the opportunity before. Changed my perspective and gave a good roadmap moving forward. I know you’re an educator, ever consider running workshops?
Each one of these sets feels surreal individually, but all of them together feels like something created out of a dream sequence
Thank you very much Mason! The way that images are assembled for presentation can have a huge impact on how they read.
I like the colour 📸 a lot!
Really glad to hear it!
The Laura Mcphee shot is totally surreal, what a find... also love the red house by Andrea Angelino Catella
I completely agree Lennert! They’re both really stinking images in their own way.
Love these. Thanks for continuing to introduce and at times, remind us of the work of other artists.
My pleasure Scott! That’s exactly what I’m hoping to do with this these features.
That first image is unreal!
I’ve seen that location in Iceland in other images, but I definitely feel like Laura’s version is definitive.
Do you know where the location is in Iceland or what it's called?
It’s the Blue Lagoon with the Svartsengi Geothermal Power Plant in the background.
Cool, thought it might be but never seen an angle like that
Yeah I think that’s a big part of what makes it so iconic.
Wonderful and inspiring selection!
Thank you Lars, that’s great to hear!
They're all surreal, but that first one by Laura McPhee just blew my mind.
I completely agree. I remember that one blowing my mind the first time I saw it years ago, but it every time I see it still gets me.
Excellent all
Much appreciated Paul!
Beautiful selection! The Laura McPhee image is otherworldly. Love them all! Would be so interesting to hear more about your curation practice.
